Create a New DAO

A step by step visual guide to creating a new DAO

Once your Manager's identity is confirmed, you can always click Create New DAO on the dashboard, which is always available in a Manager's view.

If you already read the DAO creation guide, you can move onto the next step by clicking OK

Once your Identity is verified you can click the button Next Step

Fill in DAO Configuration Details

  1. DAO governance token

  2. Staking pool

  3. Your DAO's name

  4. Your DAO's main blockchain

Basic information - name, governance token & main blockchain

Make sure your DAO has a unique name and existing governance tokens (usually the meta token of your ecosystem). If your DAO doesn’t have a governance token, you can use QUILL tokens and make Avalanche your DAO’s main blockchain.

Governance parameters - staking & voting mechanism

Only stakers are allowed to manage the DAO and participate in voting. The DAO creator can either choose an existing staking pool, or create a new one with enough emission tokens to support it (you must top up enough emission tokens in the connected wallet).

Badges are optional for DAO creators to set up an exclusive access for its members on certain proposals. Once a DAO has been created, the full amount of badges will be sent to creators wallet for distribution.

Various minimum requirements

The DAO creator needs to decide on several minimum requirements related to governance:

  • minimum governance pledges (number of staked and pledged tokens) required for a Manager;

  • minimum effective votes (number of staked and pledged tokens used in voting);

  • minimum effective wallets from the public voters

After the details are filled, click on Create DAO button.

Metamask will be activated. When you are ready, click the Confirm button on Metamask which will charge you a gas fee to commit.

After your DAO is successfully created, you can view the DAO smart contracts.

When you go back to the DAO List View, you can see the newly created DAO among all the ones managed by you.
